Reflections about the book:
"Voices of Rondo: Oral Histories of Saint Paul's Historic Black Community" - In your local bookstores mid-September
Thank you for allowing me to preview Voices of Rondo. This is a wonderful book that really preserves the legacy and history through our voices today and for the next generation. I am impressed with this fabulous book and we are excited to put it in the Givens Collection of African American Literature at the University of Minnesota

Voices of Rondo is indeed an interesting, timely and important revelation. Reflections from this rich variety of persons whose lives were a part and parcel of that once vibrant community makes for a compellingly grand and informative narrative. The content of their collective words speaks with great authority and human interest to their activities of work, and play, the challenges of everyday living, joy and social struggle . This splendid account of reminiscing about Rondo days speaks volumes as a representative impression of The National African American experience, exposing it's complexity, resilience, creativity, it's achievements, it's unassailable and monumental dignity.
